Equipment – Plugging in Peripherals

There are many extra and necessary peripherals that you will want for your computer.

The necessary ones are:

  1. Monitor, or some form of Display.
  2. Keyboard.
  3. Mouse.

Extras you may want.

  1. Headset.
  2. Speakers.
  3. Microphone.
  4. More displays.
  5. External storage.
  6. Printers/Output devices.

To insert the Peripherals there are some important ways you need to do this. They must all be plugged into the computer in the correct spots, this is more important for microphones and headphones because they often have specific spots. USB’s have the ability to be plugged into any slot you can find on the computer.

 

  1.  MONITOR

    To plug in the Monitor you need to:

Plug in the power cable to the mains power source.

Plug in the VGA, DVI, or HDMI cable into the back of the computer.

  1. KEYBOARD

    To plug in the Keyboard you need to:

Plug in the USB or PS/2 connector into a USB or PS/2 slot on the computer.

  1. MOUSE

    To plug in the Mouse you need to:

Plug in the USB connector into the USB slot on the computer.

Installing Firefox Tutorial!

For unit 13.3 P4, we have to use screenshots or video evidence to capture the installation of a software onto a personal or device provided by the college. I personally chose to install Firefox onto an old laptop of mine, using the internet.
